logout 命令在 Linux 系統中用於登出當前使用者。當你在終端會話(terminal session)中輸入logout 命令時,系統會終止你的登錄會話,並返回登錄螢幕或關閉終端視窗（取決於你的登錄方式）。
該命令不需要任何其他選項或參數，只需在終端中輸入logout 即可。
logout 命令僅適用於終端會話,並假定您已登錄系統,如果是通過圖形化使用者介面登錄,通常需要關閉視窗或使用圖形化使用者介面中的登出選項來登出。
logout 為登出系統,和指今 login 相互對應,如目錄 "/etc" 內有檔名 "nologin" ,此時只允許 root 帪號登入。
